Apple MacBook Air (2017) review

Apple 's MacBook Air is as close to iconic as a piece of consumer technology gets. It's the single laptop model you're most likely to see everywhere, from college campuses to airports to coffee shops and even offices. And it's been that way for a very...

The MacBook Air remains the least expensive MacBook, and has finally received a minor spec upgrade. Battery life is excellent, and performance for everyday tasks remains smooth. It's the only MacBook left with standard USB ports or a MagSafe connection.

The design feels dated, with a thick bezel around a low-resolution screen. Windows laptops in the same price range offer newer components, higher-res screens and lighter, slimmer bodies.

The MacBook Air lives to fight another day, thanks to its mainstream price and long battery life, but this classic laptop is definitely in its twilight.

Apple MacBook Air (2017)

The MacBook Air remains an excellent ultraportable choice for students and other macOS fans with basic computing needs, but despite killer battery life, it will disappoint power users with its low-resolution display and outdated processor.

Thin and light. Long-lasting battery. Multiple USB ports.

Low-resolution display. Older Intel Core i5 CPU.

The MacBook Air arguably started the ultrabook party, and it's still there even as a younger, thinner, and better-equipped crowd has arrived. But it has yet to overstay its welcome. For macOS fans—especially note-taking, paper-writing college...

Apple MacBook Air 13-inch (2017) review

  (Betyg Dolt)

The Apple MacBook Air gets a refresh with this 2017 model. It doesn't change much, following the company's modus operandi this year - a bump in specs to keep it relevant, as we've seen with the iPad and iMac ranges too. So is this facelift enough to...

Apple MacBook Air (2017) Review and Ratings

Apple's iconic laptop gets a CPU update for 2017, and much about its design still charms us. But lacking a more substantive rethink, it's being eclipsed by lighter, faster laptops from Windows-device makers and Apple alike.

Iconic, solid-feeling design ; Still reasonably slim and light ; Long battery life ; Better port selection, keyboard feel than other modern MacBooks ; MagSafe power connector still rocks

Low-resolution screen ; Outdated processor

If you look at it through the lens of a world made up only of Apple devices, we're grateful that the MacBook Air exists. It may be a holdover from earlier days of Apple design, but that design is a classic that's aged well. And the inclusion of...

Apple MacBook Air 13in (mid-2017) review: has Apple changed enough to stay on top?

Is the 2017 MacBook Air enough of an upgrade to justify itself?

Thin and light construction; incredible battery life

Screen is underwhelming

Performance and storage upgrades keep the already superb MacBook Air ticking over, but the iffy quality screen is starting to hold it back

Apple MacBook Air (mid 2017) review

Apple has merely tweaked the processor speed with its 2017 update to its MacBook Air, but it remains an affordable, lightweight, compact cracker of a laptop.

The 13-inch MacBook Air is Apple’s entry-level laptop, starting at £949 (US$999). It might lack the super-sharp Retina screen of the Macbook and MacBook Pro models but its display and performance is fine for most everyday uses. It boasts enough USB...

Apple MacBook Air (2017)

Quick start up, clearly set out and is easy to get to grips with, brilliant laptop overall.

Nothing, all good.
