The Canon ImageFormula DR-2010M connects to your Mac via USB 2.0. It scans both sides of a document simultaneously, at resolutions of up to 600 dpi and 24-bit colour.

If you're looking for a scanner to help pare down your paper pile, the Canon ImageFormula DR-2010M should be on your list. It proved to be both easy to use and fast, with good image quality and impressive OCR capabilities.

The installation guide is a little confusing (some of it my own fault in hindsight). Order of installation: 1) image Formula DR_2010C CD (make sure you check for driver updates online); 2) image Formula App Software CD; 3) Acrobat Standard 9 DVD; 4)...

Great scan quality and a lot of options to achieve it. Bundled Acrobat Standard is a great bonus. File sizes of scanned documents are very small which saves on storage space. Duplex Scanning

Sheet feeder vent bad very quickly. I have to feed sheets one by one or it will pull them all in, no mater how many sheets there are. No support from Cannon, you're pretty much stuck if you have any issues with the scanner, not even an online FAQ

Fast and accurate.

 

I compared this with Kodak i1120 and Visioneer Patriot. I decided on the Canon based on good experience with Canon scanners and the $110 price drop. I thought I was upgrading my HP 5590. This was not an upgrade, it was a revolution.

Extremely fast. Scans both sides at once. Can recognize and skip blank pages. No difference in speed between B& ; W and color. Good OCR capability. Doesn't take up much space
