Alienware Area-51 Threadripper Edition

 

The latest Alienware Area-51 runs on AMD's blistering Ryzen Threadripper for the ultimate in CPU-intensive 4K gaming performance. But for most, this expensive, flashy desktop PC is overkill.

Smooth 4K gameplay. Excellent multithreaded performance. Expandable chassis. Efficient, quiet cooling.

Expensive. USB-C lacks Thunderbolt 3. Lags rivals on most benchmark tests.

Bottom Line: The latest Alienware Area-51 runs on AMD's blistering Ryzen Threadripper for the ultimate in CPU-intensive 4K gaming performance. But for most, this expensive, flashy desktop PC is overkill.

The redesigned Alienware Area-51 introduces a radical new gaming desktop design, all for the sake of improved cooling, expandability, and features that make it unique in the eyes of gamers.

Alienware's latest gaming screamer boasts an overclocked quad-core CPU and dual 10,000-rpm hard drives.

Intel quad-core processor overclocked to 3.46 GHz. Fast, 10,000-rpm drives. Liquid-cooled CPU.

Noisy. Expensive, considering monitor and speakers are not included. Performance with a single graphics card isn't quite as good as quad-core systems with a dual-graphics card setup.
