Junk: disassembled to retrieve hundreds of trapped CD discs

 

My rationale for buying the Kenwood Sovereign 400 CD jukebox (DV-5900M multi-disc DVD player) was to store my treasured DVD collection in a library accessible at the touch of a few buttons. Since I bought it in the early 2000's I have hardly ever used...

DVD collection of 400+ DVD's accessible via menu at touch of a few buttons.

DVD's are trapped in unit if malfunction occurs. Heat in unit "bakes" DVD's.

What a Nightmare!!!

 

WOW!! I have never written a review, but have had such problems with this Kenwood product, I feel compelled to put in my $0.02. The unit worked as it was supposed to ..... for about 8 months. Yes .. it was noisy, but not during movie playback. ...

Large capacityFaroudja chipI liked the remote on-screen stuff.

Doesn't work.Tough to operate.Manual sucks!Noisy.Slow to find and play a disk.

Very Expensive Piece of JUNK - Stay AWAY from this....

 

Holds 403 dvd/cd. Good picture quality.

Very Expensive, NOISY, SLOW, Old Technology, LOW QUALITY. Remote: Poor layout, crowded unlighted tiny buttons.

It's a shame to see a large and supposedly reputable company as Kenwood produce such a piece of s%#!. Where to start...The unit loads and reads disks VERY slowly, although it makes a LOT of noise in the process so at least you get the impression it's ...

Necessary

 

Ok, I saw this in a store once. THis thing is really high quality and has the convience of a 4 dvd change. If you've got money to spend, and won't go into serios debt buying this. Go for it. But for normal incomes forget. My DVD play costs 84 bucks...
