Use VGA mode

 

After reading all the reviews, I was expecting this player to be junk -- but I seem to have received a good unit.

Component output (YUV) in progressive and interlace from the RCAs is poor quality (very blocky, poor contrast, color noise).

I had RJtech the older edition of the same DVD player, but it died after about a year used only. (the way it died was that I couldnt turn on the power anymore, the fuse was ok. So, I had no clue why it didnt turn on!

The price is quite high for this product. Comparing with the previous version, it only added a new feature of allowing USB as input. (if it has a small hard drive inside without increase much price to store songs for Karaoke will become more unique...

1) I have some technical question like I cant adjust the Echo volumn for karaoke like the previous verison RJtech DVD player. I went to the www.rjtech.net there is so limited information you can find and no contact info I found!!! how do I ask for help...

Problems with xvid, stopped working entirely after a month

 

Many audio outputs, and plays most anything with at most minor problems.

Only lasted one month.

I find on many of my xvid videos the player will sometimes freeze. Pushing fast forward followed by play will unstick the video, but you miss a few seconds that way. If I hadn't previously watched the videos on my computer I would have thought that...

Except for the cons mentioned, the player seemed to play all formats correctly. However, not being able to play dual layer store purchased DVD movies (see Cons) is a major minus

Tip: To get higher quality from the composite video output in NTSC or PAL, set the video mode on "PC-VGA" - the difference in quality is night/day.

I bought an RJ-800DVX that lasted 8 or 9 months. It quit so I ordered 2 of the 1800's, gave one to my son. His is cranking right along at his apartment. Mine lasted all of 30 minutes then quit responding to the remote. On and off, still no remote but...
