Have to leave water in carafe to get 12 cups (as indicated on carafe) to get most coffee. Brews in 9 - 10 minutes.

The carafe has a lip/ridge around the inside that prevents pouring the last bit of brewed coffee into your cup. Our last Krups had a much better carafe design. Otherwise, it makes a great cup of coffee.

Replaces 20 yr old Krups and I expect another 20 yrs of good service. Like the additional filter feature on this model, seems to improve coffee taste.
