Convert to dual hose

 

Like all portable air conditioners, this unit's BTU rating is not directly comparable to a window unit. I recommend that you go up at least 2,000-3,000 BTU in size (some even recommend at least a 50% jump in BTUs). It is very easy to add a second hose...

run, don't walk, run away from this junk

nice looking

used for 6 weeks, put away until May (8 months) voila! didn't work, you guessed it out of warranty. in shop waiting for backordered parts from Sharp for the entire summer. got it back in Nov. got it out again last month, and ....window adapter broken....

Don't buy this unit

 

Nothing

This unit does not turn off when the desired temperature is reached. The fan runs continuously. Sharp refuses to stand behind their product. There position is that it's perfectly fine for it to run without turning off

It's good.

 

It cools my medium sized bedroom very quickly, even in this heat wave ; I suspect it's probably overkill for a room this size ; Off timer is very useful. Use it every night

Kinda noisy, sometimes sounds like my belly after spicy food ; Not too impressed with the fan/vent modes, it doesn't shift much air. Certainly not as much as my $70 window fan ; It's heavy. Not really portable even though it has wheels. Getting the box...

Quiet but not great for price

 

I bought this unit to replace a noisy Kenmore window unit for my bedroom (which is cold but loud with irregular noises that wake you). I was reluctant because of the price but was swayed by reviews on this site and what I've read online about these...

Quieter than window units I've tried. Multi-function remote is nice but too many buttons. Cold air coming out of unit, not sure about the volume. Does not make any rattling or other noises, vibrates a little but is mostly white noise. Rolls easily. No...

The duct gives off a ton of heat - expect to insulate it (I bought a $10 insulated pipe duct and slid it over the exhaust pipe). I run it constantly and never feel like the room (15'x25') gets cold, just cool. Very heavy unit, don't plan on moving it...
