still using this 8 years later

 

still cooling my basement level after 8 years

oscillating vents smart looking design with higher quality components then compared to typical portables. decent cooling for a portable. long high quality hose MAX cooling feature is nice.

as some other users noted, early on had issue with some bushings internal within unit. was causing audible resonance due to the vibrations. fixed it myself.

I would like to see more functionality on the front panel, I lost my remote for 6 months and the AC only worked in HIGH or OFF via the front switch. HEPA Filter and UV air purification would be nice. Easily serviceable parts would be a definite plus...

For the past four years this sucker has been very reliable and provides a steady stream of cool air for a south facing bedroom. My 12x20ft bedroom with 2 large 5x4ft windows can make this unit work hard on "High" but when I use the Max function, it can...

Inspect the unit carefully before accepting it from UPS. Open the packaging and make sure there is no damage to the unit. Although the outside cardboard was dented, the unit was undamaged.
