When it worked it was great

 

SoleusAir customer service was very helpful. Unfortunately it cost me $74 to ship it to them for a replacement! My advice, buy it locally so you don't have to go through this giant hassle in August when you need an air conditioner.

Loud and low quality

 

purchased two of them both worked a few hours and then made loud grinding noises and I had to return them. I would skip this low quality product.

Works Great!

 

Portable and compact. I mainly use this in my small office but sometimes wheel it over to my guest room. It works well, kind of noisy but it doesn't bother me much. Great little AC for the price

My only complaint is the window attachment. It's pretty weak when dealing with the weight of the hose. I actually made my own window attachment out of wood and installed a screen which works much better. It came with no screen over the plastic exit...

Not as good as the KY-80E4

 

A person below posted this unit uses 700W, but the KY-80E is 935W. The Soleus SG-PAC-08E4 (the KY-80E4, also 8,000 BTU portable unit) uses 730W and also has increased dehumidifying capacity (38.4 Pts/Day vs 28.8 Pts/Day). Note that this is SOLEUSAIR...

Easy to assemble, keeps my 12x14 (168 sq ft) room cool even with the computer in the room running at a high load (generating ~750 watts of heat)

I live in Texas, and the dehumidifier tank was filling up every 6hrs or so. I ended up just placing the unit on a platform about 6" off the ground and attached the hose to drain into a 5 gallon water container. Not very sightly, but only needs to be...

Great Purchase!

 

Go ahead and make the purchase of this unit. You'll be glad you did and your wife will REALLY be thankful you did.

Purchased this unit on a Friday night. Took it home, unpacked it and set it up. It is easy to assemble. Exhaust portion of unit is easy to slide into most any window. Comes with an easy to use remote control. Turned it on and within 1 hour my bedroom...

After a year the unit quit cooling. Replacement or warranty service will cost about $75 shipping to send the unit back to the manufacture if within the warranty period. The lower half of the unit DOES NOT HAVE AIR FILTERS which I think contributed to...

This unit really performs well in a 12 by 20 bedroom, in 100 degree plus temperatures.

Compact unit. Self evaporation. Cold cold air! Remote control

Works Fine for an Inexpensive Unit

 

Use on low fan speed, higher speeds are noisy. My outside temp is 92F. Inside is 82F Air at the output louvre is 62F. Good enough for approx $200.

Easy hookup on my kitchen cabinet ; Inexpensive ; 700 watts won't overload my wiring ; Good for spot cooling in larger areas ; Cool enough that I can wear a shirt ; No more poisonous inside air problem from carpet and wallboard chemicals

Not a 2 hose system but they cost more and takeup more room ; Loses some efficiency as the house leaks in outside air to replace the hot air it pushes outside ; Takes up some room on my counter but it can drain to the sink

Great portable air conditioner at a great price. I will update this review if anything changes.

I found this air conditioner very easy to set up. It easily cools our master bedroom and then some. Even with the recent 90 degree weather in NYC this week the air conditioner has not gone above the low fan setting when set on the auto mode. Its noise...

The hose connections to the window and the air conditioner are a little larger than I thought they would be
