Solid TV with a Fixable Problem

 

Just wanted to drop by after 2 years of owning this TV and let anyone who is having trouble with audio quality trouble that there is in fact an easy fix. Go to Toshiba's website and look up the model number of this TV or any of these models: 40XV645U,...

Great picture for the price

Love this TV

 

If you are looking for an LCD at the 40 inch ballpark this is the one to get.

This is a great TV for the price. I don't know how I watched TV on my old set. Love the option to hook my computer up to it. Makes doing work on it so much more enjoyable. Not to mention watching Hulu videos on a grand scale

Best upgrade I've bought

 

Also, sometimes the audio makes an odd vibrating distortion but it could be my HD cable box so I'm not too worried. I upgraded from 27" 60hz 720p so I'm floored with the TV, PS3 games and blu-ray movies give me what my wife refers to as nerd chubs.

40" 120hz 1080p for a low price. The presets I actually use and the base is actually more solid than I would have figured

The speakers are good enough to watch TV shows with just dialog but if you are like me you already have surround sound for movies and gaming

I bought this TV to replace a 32" Philips tube TV that despite being only 4 years old was, in fact, a dinosaur. I'm seeing detail that I had no idea existed when playing CODMW on my XBOX. It took a little time to get used to the widescreen display when...

Awesome picture quality! Good sound. The guy that compared the sound to his cell phone is crazy. While the sound on this TV isn't going to blow anyone out of the water, it is more than adequate for 90% of the people that buy it. Unless you're using it...

Awesome LCD TV for the money

 

Excellent gaming monitor and HDTV tuner is amazing!

Great Screen, Controls my PS3 from the TV Remote (Good for when my kids "lose" the PS3 conrtroller. Games look awesome, no ghosting. The screen is crystal clear, works with my local comcast digital cable service (no set top box, w00t!). Tons of inputs...

The box that it came in wouldn't fit in my trash can so I had to break the box down into several pieces.. it's really hard work

TV is amazing, I honestly don't see the need for an LED backlit LCD after purchasing this.

Amazing price for a 40" 120hz, great picture, 120hz is great I couldn't live without it. No dead pixels, tons of options, lots of inputs

Awsome TV for the Price

 

Every con mentioned is honstly blown away by the price of this set. HD movies and HDTV in 120hz are droolingly good. Though gaming isn't it's strong point, I'm coming from a 27" standard CRT TV... there's a big difference to me

Great picture, great color, Three HDMI ports, digital and analog audio outputs. The Toshiba logo on the front was really bright and annoying at first but theres an option to turn it off. 120hz refresh rate is amazing while watching movies. The price is...

Admittedly the sound on the TV is terrible, have some form of sound system in place because the speakers on this thing really do suck, pretty sure my cell phone put out the same sound quality. The response time is only 8ms, and it shows in video games...

Great deal but blue color is off

 

Toshiba still should do the calibration and publish the right custom settings, then they can get 5 eggs. I don't feel like buying an expensive calibrator just to get good colors.

Good contrast, 120hz, good controls, etc. Great TV for 600 bucks

Color reproduction is off. The TV is waaaay too blue heavy. You can adjust for this and take the blue down yourself somewhat...but its something easy that should have been calibrated at the factory. So so angles -- you start to lose contrast past 40...
