I was excited to get my hands on the HD100. I have used several prosumer-level JVC cameras in the past (X2, DV500, DV5000) and I wanted to see what JVC could do with the new HDV format. I can honestly say that they have done quite well.

High quality, film-like image capture, great audio circuitry, easy to use controls
