Great webcam AND microphone

 

I don't really have any experience with other webcam products, but I will vouch that the STX makes a great USB microphone - no headset hassle, no cables, clear voice, etc.

The camera works great for online video communications. I've used it with MSN (Windows Live), Trillium, and Skype and it works perfectly, although you wouldn't want to try to take any pictures with it. Also, the microphone works independently from the...

The Logitech software is pretty useless, and runs a background process every time you use the camera, even if you have disabled all the startup processes. For power users like me, it's a pain to manually close the process every time I use the camera....

Decent Product: Webcam

 

This product is from logitech quite a reputable company in my previous experiences, they also make nice mouses, keyboards, and computer speakers.

There are none, it is nice product.

Very disappointed...

 

Looks cool, sits on top of LCD screens nicely.

Freezes MSN to a point where ending the task doesnt do anything.

Very disappointed...

 

This thing really messed my pc. I had to hard restart my pc cause of it freezing MSN. Even my bios was froze and it made itself reset to default saying overclocking failed. Results kept happening with webcam. I unplugged, uninstalled and I am now using...

Freezes MSN to a point where ending the task doesnt do anything. Picture is VERY grainy. I have 5 year old IBM pc cam and the picture on that is so much clearer. Very disappointed with this cam

This has minor software issues

 

Can not be installed on a clean copy of windows until you have SP2 and Windows Installer 3.1.

Very good image quility. This is a great cam for the price. I have had no issues since the install has been complete

The software packaged didn't work for the install. I had to download it from their web site

Logitech 961443-0403 QuickCam Communicate STX 1.3 MP(interpolated) Effective Pixels USB 2.0 WebCam - OEM

 

Auto white balance kind of sucks, works better if you manually adjust it. Having a few difficulties with the microphone in the version of msn messenger I use (probably needs to be updated), however it works fine with other programs.

Perfectly suits my needs. The low light feature is awesome, I no longer need to turn on all the lights in my room. Sits well on top of my monitor
